Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

The aims of this research are: 1) to study the level of administrator’s leadership and core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province; 2) to study the relationship between  leadership and core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province, and 3) to study problems, obstacles and suggestions to develop the core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province. The mixed research methods were conducted in this study. The tool for data collection is a questionnaire distributed to 276 staff of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province. The statistical technique for data collection are frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. To test the relationship between administrator’s leadership and core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. With statistical significance at 0.05 level is employed.

The findings of this study are concluded as follows:

           1. The overall staff’s opinions towards administrator’s leadership and core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province, have been found at the high level.  

           2. There is relationship between administrator’s leadership and core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province.

           3.   With regard to problems, obstacles and suggestions to develop the core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province, it has been found that for vision: there is lack of the vision which aims to success of the organization; for knowledge, there is lack of the knowledge and understanding of the work in the organization; for personality, there is no immediate decision-making for urgent situation; for the atmosphere, there are no constructed the atmospheres for member person to study all the time; for achievement, there is lack of the success based attention to the organization; for good service,  there are no direct services for the true demand; for the profession on career, there is lack of the knowledge in academic skills and new technology; and for participation and cooperation, there is lack of the complete cooperation among the  members.

Suggestions to develop the core competency of Bangsrimueng Municipality of Bangsrimueng Sub-distrlct, Mueng distrlct, Nonthaburi Province, it has been found that the administrator should plan the policy and make the strategy in consistent with objectives, there should have modern thinking and enthusiastic, serious working  should be carried out, vision should be changed in consistent with suitable situation, the good atmosphere of working should be created for the staff’s confidence, there should increase staff’s ability, there should use all knowledge and competency on working and develop one own knowledge and profession, . for working, there should get rid of the prejudice and unjust decision, there should be encouraged and support another colleague team.
